KPMG Women's Irish Open - K Club, Co.Kildare - August 27th to 30th: 50 minute drive

Amgen Irish Open - Trump International Doonbeg, Co.Clare - September 9th to 13th : 3.5 hour drive

If you are planning ahead, the 2027 Ryder Cup will take place in the stunning Adare Manor in County Limerick. Laytown and Bettystown Links

Laytown & Bettystown golf links is in existence for over 100 years. Historical records account for the fact that both W.C. Pickeman of Portmarnock fame and Cecil Barcroft the designer of courses such as Carlow, The Castle and Skerries, had a hand in the creation of Laytown & Bettystown golf links.

In the intervening years subsequent professionals have made some changes to the design of the golf links. As it stands today, Laytown & Bettystown golf course is an excellent example of traditional links golf in Ireland.

County Louth Baltray

Baltray plays annual host to the East of Ireland Golf Championships since its inauguration in 1941, which was won no fewer than 12 times by the legendary Irish amateur, Joe Carr. The club recently hosted the Irish Open in 2004 and 2009.

Some of the finest holes at Baltray include the difficult par four opening hole; the long par five 3rd, which requires a blind shot over a knoll onto a small green; the par five 6th, which leads through a valley of dunes to a green hidden behind two hills; the par four 14th, which requires a drive from an elevated tee to a fairway almost 200 yards away; and the majestic closing hole, complete with some malicious bunkering.

Royal Tara Golf Club

Royal Tara boasts a mature 27-hole golf complex set in rolling parkland. The course was extended from 9 to 13 holes in 1966, and from 13 to 18 holes in 1969. A further 9 holes was added in the late 1980’s. Some of the more recent enhancements include making Royal Tara a more pollinator-friendly course with the inclusion of more meadow areas.

Royal Tara Golf Club was the venue for the All Ireland Cups and Shields Final in 2013 and the Ladies All Ireland Championship in 2009. It has staged many other Youth Internationals and Championship events over time and was named Leinster’s Best Parkland Course by Golfer’s Guide to Ireland in 2023.
