The 'bend of the boyne' – is the name given to one of the worlds most important archaeological landscapes, dominated by the spectacular prehistoric passage tombs of Newgrange, Knowth and Dowth.
Newgrange is best known for the illumination of its passage and chamber by the winter solstice (Dec 21st) sun. Visitor access to Newgrange is by guided tour from the Brú na Bóinne Visitor Centre on the south side of the river Boyne.
