Meath is the 14th largest of Ireland’s 32 counties in area and the 13th largest in terms of population.  We have 10.4 km of coastline on the Irish Sea for your enjoyment.

Its only a small coastline, but the beaches at Bettystown, Laytown and Mornington are beautiful, sandy and have safe, shallow bathing.  Laytown is famous for being the only approved and official beach racing in Europe. 

Please Note: None of these beaches are Blue Flags areas. Great care must be taken as there is not a life guard service available.
